Ilco is founder of MasterPeace, a new global peace project. "Creating Peace. Together." MasterPeace aims to provide a mesmerizing Peace Concert on International Peace Day (21 September) in 2014, in Cairo, Egypt. Tickets for the concert will not be on sale; those who wish to attend have to “deserve” them, by actually doing something for peace. Action must be taken between the official launch of MasterPeace on Peace Day 2011 and Peace Day 2014. Because peace-building is a verb.
www.masterpeace.org will provide many appealing opportunities for peacebuilding from 2011 onwards. And finally by 20.14 we aim to have mobilised 20 million people worldwide to 'embrace' the 14 most terrible conflicts and their possible solutions: Connectivity, Positivity, Peacebuilding and the UN Millennium Development Goals.
In order to achieve this, MasterPeace will develop innovative and bottom-up campaigning, that will start with pre-launching activities in the course of 2010. On 5 May 2010 the MasterPeace logo will be presented before an audience of 150,000 people at the 'Bevrijdingspop' festival in Haarlem, Holland.
