Bevrijdingspop

Ilco is founder of the Bevrijdingspop ("Liberation Pop") Festival, developed to celebrate the end of the 2nd World War and to cherish and support human rights and diversity. With 150.000 visitors yearly Bevrijdingspop is one of the biggest festivals of the Netherlands. See also www.bevrijdingspop.nl (only in Dutch). Between 1980 and 1995 Ilco was chair and director of Bevrijdingspop, working voluntary.

On May 5, 2010 the 30th edition of Bevrijdingspop is celebrated. The Mayor of Haarlem honored Ilco with the Silver Medal of Merits, given by the City of Haarlem.
